In recent years a study was performed in which the
cost-effectiveness of the ParkinsonNet concept was
investigated in a so-called 'Cluster Randomised Trial'. The main
results of this 'ParkinsonNet Trial' were that the
ParkinsonNet concept leads to a better quality of care and
lower costs (Munneke et al., Lancet
Neurology 2009)
The study was performed with financial support from the
Dutch organisation for research in healthcare and healthcare
innovation (ZonMw), Stichting Robuust and the National
Parkinson Foundation.
