Caregivers participating in ParkinsonNet have received a
specific training in the treatment of patients with
Parkinson's disease and related disorders (atypical
Parkinsonism). The participating caregivers, such as
physiotherapists, speech therapists and occupational
therapists work closely together with Parkinson nurses
and neurologists in their region. Therefore, treatment is expert
and optimally attuned. ParkinsonNet caregivers are well dispersed
in a region and have to be able to make housecalls.
This enables for patients to receive optimal
treatment close to home. Patients can easily find the nearest
caregiver participating in the Dutch ParkinsonNet network using
both the 'Parkinson Zorgzoeker'
and the printable folders.
